  Reporting FSUWIN Wireless Problems

We have two main areas for grad student offices, the 4th floor of MCH, and room 251 in the renovated portion of the Love building. To provide Internet access for student-owned computers, we have arranged with the FSU Office of Telecommunications (OTC) to have wireless access points installed in each of these areas. The access points extend the FSUWIN wireless network, sometimes also refered to as "WIN@FSU".

If problems occur with FSUWIN wireless access from the Math grad student areas, please email a problem description to the following OTC technical staff:

Also, please cc the email to , so the Math system group is aware of the issue. When sending a problem report, please include the following info:

1. Your physical location, office number and building name.

2. The equipment you are using. For a laptop, mention the make/model, what OS and version it is running, and if you are using built-in wireless equipment or some kind of plugin card.

3. Describe the behavior (or lack of behavior) you are experiencing.

4. Also, if the problem is sporatic, be sure to list times/dates for both successful and unsuccessful attempts to use FSUWIN. These times can sometimes be matched to computer logs to help diagnose the problem.

More problem description emails equals more attention to the issue, so please be sure to send an email when you have a problem. Here is the main page for FSUWIN, which has more information.
