MATH COURSE ELIGIBILITY

 

            In order to enroll in a math course, a student must be eligible for the course.  Course eligibility requirements are shown below.  A student must satisfy at least one of the listed conditions to be eligible for a course.

 

MGF 1106/1107

á       SAT Quantitative score greater than 460 or ACT Math score greater than 20, or

á       Placement by SMS test

 

MAC 1105

á       SAT Quantitative score greater than 460 or ACT Math score greater than 20, or

á       Placement by SMS test

 

MAC 1114

á       Credit for a course in College Algebra (e.g. MAC 1105) with a grade of C- or better, or

á       SAT Quantitative score of 600 or better or ACT Math score of 26 or better, or

á       AMP Algebra Group A3 or A4, or

á       Credit by exam

 

MAC 1140

á       Credit for a course in College Algebra (e.g. MAC 1105) with a grade of C- or better, or

á       SAT Quantitative score of 600 or better or ACT Math score of 26 or better, or

á       AMP Algebra Group A3 or A4, or

á       Credit by exam

 

MAC 2233

á       Credit for MAC 1105 (not MAC 1102) with a grade of C- or better, or

á       Credit for MAC 1141 or MAC 1140 with a grade of C- or better, or

á       AMP Algebra Group A3 or A4, or

á       Credit by exam

 

MAC 2311

á       Credit for MAC 1140 and MAC 1114 with a grade of C- or better, or

á       AMP Groups A4 and T3, or

á       Credit for MAC 2233 with a grade of C- or better[1], or

á       Credit by exam

 

MAC 2311 Honors

á       Be accepted in the Honors Program and

á       Qualify for enrollment in MAC 2311 or

á       Receive Department of Mathematics permission (cf. Associate Chair)

 

MAC 2312

á       Credit for MAC 2311 with a grade of C- or better, or

á       AMP Calculus score of 17 or higher, or

á       Credit by exam

 

MAC 2312 Honors

á       In Honors Program and a grade of C- or better in MAC 2311 H, or

á       AMP  Groups A4 and T3 and a Calculus score of 19 or higher, or

á       AP (AB) score of 5 or higher



[1] Must take 2311 for 2 hours reduced credit. Must take MAC 1114 concurrently.
