The first Florida State University Mathematics Technology award was given to Jennifer Haid for "Best Maple Performance by a Calculus 1 Student".
Jennifer is enrolled in Dr Bellenot's Calculus 1 section. Bellenot said "Many calculus 1 students think Maple requires super-human effort, which is not true, but it does mean we need to recognize outstanding performance. Jennifer projects were outstanding."
Besides a certificate, Jennifer was given a hand-crafted "Maple leaf" pin by local artist/craftsman Ellen Rumsey.
