Current Assignments

• Homework must be stapled together with no dog-eared corners.
• Unstapled homework will not be accepted.

  • Do the following integrals by the by guess and by golly method
    • Page 373-4: 54, 70, 34, 14, 16, 19, 55, 79, 21 [ln x^2 = 2 ln x], 31
    • int(arctan(2x),x), int(arctan(x/3),x)
  • Solve the IVP by using power series. (Last two are non-separable)
    • y' -2y = 0; y(0) = 1 --- ans exp(2x)
    • y' -2y = 0; y(0) = 3 --- ans 3*exp(2x)
    • y' -2y = 4x; y(0) = 1 --- ans -2 x - 1 + 2 * exp(2x)
    • y' -2y = e^x; y(0) = 1 --- ans -exp(x) + 2 * exp(2x)

• Test 3 to be given on Nov 29, 2001.
• Test 2 given on Oct 25, 2001.
• Test 1 given on Sep 20, 2001.
