JOB TITLE: Actuarial Assistant

 

EXEMPT:                    Y                                                DIVISION:                 HLR US

SHIFT:                        Full-time                                    DEPARTMENT:        Actuarial

 

 

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the senior staff of the pricing area in the management and pricing of new business for HLR business. The individual will be responsible for assisting in the pricing of various new opportunities. Additional responsibilities include providing relevant information to the marketing and executive areas.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following. 

 

      Developing new life pricing models

 

Assist in the completion of quotes for various new opportunities.

 

Assist in the manipulation and interpretation of client data.

 

Provide actuarial support to the marketing area as needed.

 

Assist in the development of treaty schedules

 

Assist in the actuarial appraisals if insurance companies, segments of insurance companies, and blocks of insurance contracts.

Assist in due diligence of insurance companies, third party administrators, and other provider companies related to the business.

     

            Assist in the transfer of information on recently accepted life quotes to the accounting, administrative, and corporate actuarial areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

 

      Minimum of 2 years of actuarial work experience


      Minimum of one actuarial exam from the Society of Actuaries with the intent to be credentialed.

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

 

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

 

Excellent technical actuarial aptitude.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Good organizational skills.

Excellent PC skills, to include Excel, Word and Access. Additionally some experience with actuarial software (TAS, PTS, ALFA) is required.
