1.         Describe the primary function or responsibilities of the position:

 

á       Improve existing and create new valuation analysis tools under guidance of your manager

á       Prepare and aggregate data for valuation purposes

á       Assist in building actuarial A&H models

á       Assist in transferring actuarial models to other software

á       Provide documentation for implemented processes

 

2.         Give examples of type of decisions and the impact of these decisions that are made in this position.

á       The employee should develop a basic understanding of reinsurance data and processes for the projects

á       Judgment is required to determine if the output appears reasonable in light of the input

á       The models might be used in the valuation process of the business after being reviewed by your manager

á       The insight to know when to seek advice from peers and/or your manager and the ability to understand and apply new actuarial knowledge will be key to the success of this position

á       CIS for help in obtaining the correct data to use for the valuations and projections – sporadic communication

á       The quality of each project is assessed by the manager. Successful accomplishments will be visible when comparing the results and processes to previous tools and results.

á       Working toward BachelorÕs or Master's Degree in Actuarial Science

á       Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) proficiency

á       Knowledge of Polysystems and/or AXIS preferred

á       Life (re)insurance knowledge is a plus
