Seminars
There are two seminars that run regularly every semester: the Proseminar and the Research Seminar.
Proseminar,
MAT 5939r
Participation in the Proseminar is
expected in each enrolled semester prior to the MS degree. A Resume
Workshop, discussions of credentialing and of professional standards
and ethics, information about available tools and supplementary topics
with assignments to the students distinguish the Proseminar from a
research seminar. Speakers from the financial sector visit campus
several times each year, including the Financial Mathematics Festivals.
Current Seminars. Past Seminars.
Research
Seminar, MAT 6939r
The Research Seminar is a forum for the
exchange of research ideas of faculty and graduate students both in and
out of the department. Talks are given by faculty, students, and
visitors on their research or on research papers chosen by the
participants. Some of the visitors speak in the Friday afternoon
colloquium.
Current Seminars. Past Seminars.
FINANCIAL MATHEMATICS FESTIVAL
Every Spring semester we organize a two-day event where invited speakers from the finance industry present talks in Financial Mathematics. For the programs of the past festivals, click here.
