Letters of Recommendation

Instructions for Students

If I have agreed to write letters of recommendation for you, please give me a folder containing Furthermore, at least two weeks before the first letter is due, e-mail me Also, in your email, please answer the following questions:
  1. How long have I known you, and in what relationship(s)? (instructor, advisor, etc.)
  2. If you have been a student in my class(es), which one(s)? What final grade(s) did I assign? How did you distinguish yourself?
  3. How would you describe yourself?
  4. What are some of your academic accomplishments?
  5. What are some of your nonacademic accomplishments?
  6. What makes you particularly qualified for this position/honor/award?
  7. What are your long term goals and how will this position/honor/award help?
  8. Do you have any additional comments?
