objectives
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to more advanced topics in the calculus and some of their applications. The material in this course should be mastered before the student proceeds to courses for which this is a prerequisite.
attendance
I strongly advise you to attend class regularly. A student absent from class bears the full responsibility for all subject matter and procedural information discussed in class.
courtesy
Generally, I expect you to get to class on time and not to leave class until I have dismissed it. If you must leave class early, please let me know before class begins.
grading
You will receive a unit grade based on your performance on a 100 point unit test. For Unit 3, a pretest is given and your Unit 3 grade will be either the average grade on PreTest 3 and Test 3, or the grade on Test 3 alone, whichever is higher. The average of the four unit grades will be converted to a letter grade according to the usual cutoffs (90-100 A-, A; 80-90 B-,B, B+; etc.).
makeups
No makeups are given. If you miss a test, 0 will be entered for your grade on that test.
test dates
Tentative test dates:
Test 1.................................................. 17 September
Test 2.................................................. 06 October
PreTest 3............................................. 23 October
Test 3.................................................. 12 November
Test 4.................................................. 08 or 10 December
