Title: Analyzing the construction toy "zome" using groups, rings and modules.

Abstract: Zome is a construction toy that is mathematically interesting because it has the icosahedral group A5 as its symmetry group. Because there is only one way to design a construction toy with this symmetry group, properties of zome can be derived from properties of this symmetry group. For instance, I will show in the talk how the fact that A5 is a simple group can be used to obtain an interesting (previously unknown) result about which constructions fit in zome and which do not.
