Title: A New Metric- Finding Geodesics between Open Curves

Abstract: Here we will study a method presented in "A Metric on Shape Space with Explicit Geodesics" by Laurent Younes, Peter W. Michor, Jayant Shah, and David Mumford. Much of the talk will be describing part of the work done in this paper. What I will then show is that we can take this information and generalize it to R^n.
