Section 1.5 exercises: Note: Answers for odd-numbered questions are in the back of the book. So when I ask you to turn in the two hardest questions you could solve, don't simply copy an answer from the book! Do not look at answers before trying an exercise yourself. You can look at solutions in the back of the book, however, the only way you can learn from that is if you first tried that exercise yourself. For every even-numbered question there is a very similar odd-numbered question with an answer in the back of the book. So if you're not sure if you got it right, then first do an odd-numbered question, then check your answer, and once you know you can do that question, you can then do a similar even-numbered question. Don't copy turn-in questions from other students or from the back of the book. Remember, you don't lose any credit for errors in homework questions!! Exercises: (I'll write these after class today) Look at all exercises, and if you see any that you can't do, then ask on Monday. Turn in: Ex 12. Ex 22. (test your answer, check your answer equals p for some value of the parameter, and equals q for another value of the parameter) Ex 26. (you should read and think about Ex 23-40 because these are good tests to see if you understand the material and I may pick something from there for a test).
