Abstract. Using the so called "Cramer delta method" we derive CLTs for Frechet means of distributions on closed submanifolds of Euclidean spaces or on complete Riemannian manifolds. Based on CLTs we then estimate parameters of distributions on manifolds, leading to applications in astronomy, geology, shape and image analysis, face recognition, medical imaging and bioinformatics.
