Southeast Applied & Computational Math Student Workshop
A welcoming forum where graduate students and postdoctoral researchers share their work, meet peers across the Southeast, and build connections with faculty and national-laboratory scientists.
About & objectives
A place for early-career researchers to be heard.
The workshop began in 2023 as the Florida–Georgia Applied and Computational Math Student Workshop and has since grown into a broader Southeast gathering. It brings together graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and other researchers in an informal setting centered on student talks, posters, plenary lectures, and conversation. It is open to the wider research community.
Connect the region
Build lasting relationships among applied and computational mathematics communities across the Southeast.
Exchange ideas
Share methods, applications, and emerging directions in scientific computing, data science, modeling, and analysis.
Broaden pathways
Help early-career researchers learn from faculty, peers, and scientists working in universities and national laboratories.
2027 tentative program
Two days of talks, ideas, and connections.
The fifth workshop will take place at Florida State University on Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3, 2027. The program may be adjusted as speakers and presentations are confirmed.
Student presentation format: 20 minutes total, with 15 minutes for the talk and 5 minutes for questions. Each student session is limited to four presentations.
