In my spare time, I enjoy running, hiking, and canoeing/kayaking
(especially around the Big Bend region of Florida where I lived in
grad school!). I also enjoy travelling when I get the chance! Here are a few photos from my math travels in grad school and college.
In Nov. 2019, Julia Ream and I travelled to Seattle to attend the 72nd Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics! While Julia and I weren't giving talks on our research, we were able to explore the city some!
Above are two photos from my trip to China over the summer of 2019! Dr. Moore and I visited Dr. Wang at SUS Tech in Shenzhen, China. The first picture is one of the academic buildings on campus, and the second is a photo of Dr. Moore being a tourist on our visit to the Tian Tan Buddha in Hong Kong.
Above are two photos from Peru. I went in January of 2015 to take a class titled "Mathematics and Architecture in Ancient Peru" with my college. The top photo is a llama at Machu Picchu. The bottom photo is the class at Sacsayhuaman, a fortress built in the 12th century on top of a hill overlooking Cusco.
The summer before my junior year in college, a fellow Centre student and I went to Rio de Janeiro and worked with high school students interested in attending university in the United States. The left photo was taken on a hike with students up Morro da Urca with Sugarloaf Mountain in the background. On the right, Cheyenne Barsotti (née Evans) and I at Copacabana Beach.
