Summer 2026 Math Grad Classes
Summer 2026 Math Grad Classes
Last updated 03/09/2026
Grad classes can be divided into 3 categories: regular 3-credit hour classes, seminars, and DIS/dissertation hour classes. Students usually work with Elizabeth and their advisors to determine if something in the DIS category is relevant.
Grad students have to fill out their grid by late-March (typically March 25 or 26). Please refer to the email from the Graduate TA Coordinator for all grid instructions and deadlines. Department policy is that all grad classes and seminars must have a minimum of 5 students registered to run. If a class does not have 5 students, then recruit your friends!
In case you didn't know ... the "grid" is an internal Math Department web interface where grad students indicate what courses they will be taking. The Graduate TA Coordinator uses this information to create TA assignments. Once the grid deadline passes, then students can only change their course selections if it does not interfere with their TA assignments. Generally, course meeting time changes or student changes from a TA appointment to an RA appointment cannot be accommodated after the grid deadline passes as these changes affect teaching assignments.
