Abstract. We will consider a simple algebraic construction of pseudoquotients and discuss their general properties. Some recent applications suggest that pseudoquotients can provide useful and versatile tools for constructing new objects in other areas of mathematics. We will give examples of such applications in generalized functions and abstract harmonic analysis.
