MATHEMATICS COLLOQUIUM
Speaker: Bror Saxberg Abstract. There is much research available about how learning can be improved with better learning experiences, including the use of technology. However, little of that research is used practically at scale to help students, compared with just random walks with cool technology. ("Video is great, right? Must have more!") We will talk about what it means to act more as "learning engineers": applying learning science at scale. As in any other good design effort, we should want to see what works, and doesn't, collecting and using good data to adjust. Indeed, with scale, we can put together test-beds for systematic improvements and more reliable impact. |
