Owen Lewis

My name is Owen Lewis. I am currently a Dean's Postdoctoral Scholar in the Math department at Florida State University where I work with Dr. Nick Cogan. Previously, I was a Research Assistant Professor in the Mathematical Biology Research Group at the University of Utah where I worked with Dr. Aaron Fogelson and Dr. James Keener. I received my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California Davis where I worked under Dr. Robert Guy.

When not working, I like to spend my time playing in the mountains (or anywhere outdoors). In my previous homes, I spent a large amount of time in the Wasatch and Sierra Nevada mountains. I am an avid alpine and backcountry skier, and miss the snow dearly. When there is no snow to be found I enjoy backpacking and hiking whenever possible, particularly with my dog Barry. I'm still trying to teach Barry how to ski. I am also an avid sports fan. Before you ask: Forty Niners, Trail Blazers, Arsenal.
