FSU Mathematics

FSU Mathematics Outreach is coordinated by Dr. Steve Blumsack, Dr. Alec Kercheval, and Dr. Monica Hurdal.

FSU Math Fun Day

Each year, the Department of Mathematics hosts FSU Math Fun Day which is a free event for the community. Over 60 faculty, staff, and student volunteers engage with the community to demonstrate that MATH is FUN! There will be presentations, workshops, hands-on activities, and exhibits for the general public. The event is aimed toward upper-elementary, middle, and high school students, educators and parents. We hope you will join us.

FSU High School Mathematics Contest

The Department hosts a mathematics contest for high shool students in October of each year. The 3-hour written exam tests problem-solving skills and mathematical ingenuity rather than the content of a specific course.
