Write up solutions to exercise 5, p. 22, exercise 1 of Homework Set 1, and one of exercises 3, 8, or 13 of Homework Set 1. These are due next Monday, 18 September.

Continue work on previously assigned problems.

Write up solutions to hand in on Monday. See 11 September.
M 18 September
Hand in Homework Set 1 assigned 11 September. Exercises 8-14, p. 22 again as well as 15 and 18.

Start studying pages 24-30. Exercises 2-5, p. 43.

Homework Set 3 is a list of various properties of functions and their interactions with the set-theoretic operations of union, intersection, and difference. These are to be worked as needed. In presenting proofs in class, I will sometimes prove some of the statements on this sheet when I use them for the first time.

Mid-term Test! The in-class portion is open book and open notes. The take-home portion is due Monday, 06 November.
