HW2 (due Monday Feb 15): Let C be a curve and P be a non-singular point on C. Recall
that then the maximal ideal m at P is principal, and if f is
a nonzero element of the function field of C, then the order of vanishing
of f at P is the maximum integer d such that f is in the d-th power
of m. Show that if f and g are nonzero elements of the function field of C,
then the order of vanishing of f times g at P is the sum of
the orders of vanishing of f and g at P.
